Tenses
Past Simple
A finished action at a finished time.
Explanation
Regular verbs take -ed and irregular verbs have their own form. Use it for completed actions with a definite past time, for a sequence of events in a story, and for past habits. Negatives and questions use did plus the base verb.
Examples
- We walked to the harbour after lunch.
- She bought a bicycle last week.
- Did you enjoy the concert?

I did not go there.
After did, use the base verb.
Yesterday I have cooked.

Finished time takes the past simple.
